Things I believe

There are things I believe that the LDS Church teaches and some things I'm not so sure about. I'm going to start off with what I believe.

I believe -

-Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
- Christ died on the cross for the salvation of everyone who ever lived or will live.
- God is our Heavenly Father and our spirits lived with him before we were born.
-We have free will. This means it is up to us to make our own choices, good or bad.
- The world was created to be our testing ground, to see if we would make good choices so we could return to our Heavenly Father.
-Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings that make up the Godhead.
- Everyone will be given the chance to hear and accept or reject the Gospel, even if they didn't during their time on Earth.
- Necessary ordinances can be performed posthumously with a proxy.
- The Bible is the word of God. I'm not sure that everything should be taken literally, though I do believe it all is true.


I'm less sure about -

- Joseph Smith was a true prophet.
- The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price are true and inspired by God.
- The importance of eternal families. I like the idea, but I never thought we'd be lost from each other in heaven anyway.
