Potato Pearls directions

Since the directions on the bag of Potato Pearls is for making the entire bag at once, I needed to figure out the ratio of water to potato pearls. The amount I figured was for one serving: 1/4 cup of PP to 1/2 cup hot H2O.

Serv - Pearls - Water
1 - 1/4 c - 1/2 c
2 - 1/2 c- 1 c
4 - 1 c - 2 c
6 - 1 1/2 c - 3 c
8 - 2 c - 4 c

Ever since they changed the packaging I always forget the ratio for these ... so thank you so much for posting this! I hope you don't mind that I've read a bit through your blog & some of your conversion story. You are an inspiration!

Thanks for posting this, I had the bag in front of me staring at it for many minutes trying to calculate equivalent measurements but your site did the trick: 2 to 1 relationship of water to Potato Pearls, just like rice, only faster.

Thank you so much. I had worked in a school cafeteria and found these potatoes to be as good as home made...well, in a pinch. Was so happy to be able to find them, but have had a hard time with cutting down the recipe. You are a life saver!!48 nyited

thanks a bunch! I can never remember the ratio of water to potato.
this is one food storage item my family eats :) I've thought of doing my own blog that is titled 'real food storage'
because, lets face it, not all traditionally stored foods are ones kids like to eat.
thanks again,

Broke out food storage can marked 'potatoes' today and realized it was potato pearls! Used your ratios to create a 'twice baked' casserole. Thanks!

Can someone tell me how much it makes? Does 1 cup of potato pearls make 2 cups of mashed potatoes? I need to know the actual AMOUNT it makes in volume, not the number of servings. I've read that 1/4 cup pearls makes 2-3 servings-- but I can't find anywhere that says how much a serving is. Thank you!
